This report regards the activity autonomously developed by the Ombudsman as
the National Preventive Mechanism, under the Optional Protocol to the Convention
against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment.
It describes the initiatives carried out in 2014, with a special mention to the visits to
places of detention.
