- This project aims to enhance the implementation of the EU Directives on procedural rights in criminal proceedings and thereby strengthen the safeguards for the rights of persons in police custody that are suspected or accused of crimes. It is funded by the EU and implemented by the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Fundamental and Human Rights in collaboration with Rights International Spain, Fair Trials Europe, the Irish Council for Civil Liberties (ICCL) and the Association for the Defence of Human Rights in Romania – the Helsinki Committee (APADOR-CH).
