Description
The Association for the Defence of Human Rights in Romania – the Helsinki Committee (APADOR-CH) is a non-profit NGO established in 1990, which works to protect human rights across the country in a spirit of integrity, transparency and impartiality. APADPOR-CH supports the development of efficient legal and institutional mechanisms for enhancing respect for human rights, monitoring relevant institutions, initiating law reform and developing practices and institutional structures that increase transparency and good governance. They also take on strategic litigation cases. The priority areas for their monitoring activities are police abuse as well as regulations and practices in the field of national security that impact human rights and those concerning deprivation of liberty.
