The complainant is A.N., a Burundian national born in 1978 and from the
municipality of Muyinga (Muyinga Province). At the time of the events, he was residing in
Ngozi. He is single and has no dependent children. He claims that Burundi has violated his
rights under articles 2 (1), 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15, read in conjunction with article 1 and,
alternatively, with article 16 of the Convention against Torture. He is represented by
counsel.
