The Committee against Torture considered the third periodic report of Slovakia (CAT/C/SVK/3/Rev.1) at its 1330th and 1333rd meetings, held on 28 and 29 July 2015 (see CAT/C/SR.1330 and CAT/C/SR.1333), and adopted the following concluding observations at its 1347th meeting, held on 10 August 2015. A. Introduction 2. The Committee expresses its appreciation to the State party for having submitted its third periodic report, as well as the comprehensive written replies (CAT/C/SVK/Q/3/Add.2) provided to the Committee. 3. The Committee also expresses its appreciation for the quality of its dialogue with the State party’s large, high-level multisectoral delegation and the responses provided orally to the questions and concerns raised during the consideration of the report. B. Positive aspects 4. The Committee welcomes the State party’s accession to and ratification of the following international instruments: (a) Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography, in May 2010; (b) Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the involvement of children in armed conflict, in May 2010; (c) Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, in March 2012; (d) International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance, in December 2014. 5. The Committee welcomes the State party’s initiatives to revise its legislation in areas of relevance to the Convention, including the following: * Adopted by the Committee at its fifty-fifth session (27 July to 14 August 2015).
