The author of the communication is D.V.K., a national of Kazakhstan born on 18
March 1991. He is currently serving a prison sentence in a State prison in Aktau, Kazakhstan.
He claims that the State party has violated his rights under articles 2, 7 and 14 (1)–(2) and (3)
(b), (e) and (g) of the Covenant. The Optional Protocol entered into force for the State party
on 30 September 2009. The author is represented by counsel.
