Since its establishment in 1991, the OSCE Office
for Democratic Institutions and Human
Rights (ODIHR) has been mandated to assist the
Organization’s 57 participating States to ensure
full respect for human rights and fundamental
freedoms; to abide by the rule of law; to strengthen
and protect democratic institutions and practices;
to promote tolerance and non-discrimination
throughout societies; and to improve the situation
of Roma and Sinti.
