The author of the communication is Fakhridin Ashirov, an ethnic Uzbek and
national of Kyrgyzstan born in 1989. He claims that the State party has violated his rights
under article 7, separately and in conjunction with articles 2 (3), 9 (1), (3) and (4), 14 (1)
and (3) (e) and (g) and 26 of the Covenant. The Optional Protocol entered into force for
Kyrgyzstan on 7 January 1995. The author is represented by counsel.
