The author of the communication is Zhaslan Suleimenov, a national of Kazakhstan
born in 1976. He claims to be a victim of a violation by Kazakhstan of his rights under
article 7, read in conjunction with article 2, and articles 9, 10, 14 and 18 of the Covenant.
The Optional Protocol entered into force for Kazakhstan on 30 September 2009. The author
is represented by counsel.
