On 30 December 2020, the Committee, having been informed that the complainant
had been granted permanent residence in Canada on 19 July 2019, decided to discontinue the
consideration of communication No. 741/2016, on the understanding that the complainant
was no longer at risk of deportation to Sri Lanka and that, therefore, the communication had
become moot.
