The author of the communication is A.T., a citizen of the Russian Federation, born in
1980. He claims that the State party has violated of his rights under articles 2, 3, 5, 7, 14 (1)
and (3) (d), 15 and 26 of the Covenant. The Optional Protocol entered into force for the State
party on 1 January 1992. The author is not represented by counsel.
Facts as submitted by the author

On 15 December 2003, the author was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Supreme
Court of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania,1 for having committed acts of terrorism.2 On
15 December 2004, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, acting as court of cassation,
