Description
The Association Burundaise pour la Protection des Droits Humains et des Personnes Détenues (Burundian Association for the Protection of Human Rights and Persons in Detention - APRODH) was founded in 2000 to monitor the human rights situation in the country, in particular the situation and treatment of persons deprived of their liberty. They fight against torture and all forms of violence and abuse, advocate for victims of ill-treatment and offer them support and rehabilitation services. APRODH also assists vulnerable individuals in accessing fair justice and disseminates information on national and international human rights issues as well as conducting various other activities aimed at the prevention and eradication of torture and ill-treatment.
